The Info-day titled “Hydrogen Technology and Fuel Cells: Investment prospects in an emerging market” will be held on Tuesday 12 March 2013, at 9.30 a.m., at the "Vergina" Auditorium of CERTH, within the framework of the project
Hydrogen Economy Cooperation Network for Research - Public Awareness - Business Opportunities across Greek-Bulgarian borders – HYDECON" under the "European Territorial Cooperation" Operational Programme Greece - Bulgaria 2007-2013.
The info-day includes:
- a short presentation of the HYDECON project
- 4 presentations based on the study “Hydrogen Technology related Business opportunities in the regions of Greece and Bulgaria” which was conducted on behalf of the HYDECON project
- a presentation, by the manufacturing company, of the design and the assembly of the H2 fuel Cell Scooter within the framework of the HYDECON project
- a guided visit of all participants at the “Photovoltaic Hydrogen production Unit” which was installed in CERTH for the needs of the HYDECON project
All businesses, professionals, researchers and students, with interest in the area of H2 technologies are invited to participate in the Info day.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we would like to cordially invite you to participate in the International Conference on Biofuels for Sustainable Development of Southern Europe (Bio4SuD) to be held in Thessaloniki (Greece) on 19-20 November, 2012. This conference is organized as part of the BIOFUELS-2G demonstration project funded by the European Union and the LIFE+ Programme.
The Bio4SuD conference aims to:
- highlight promising R&D activities in the fields of biofuels production
- present demonstration projects of key 2nd and 3rd generation biofuels production technologies
- promote networking between academic and industrial stakeholders and
- initiate Private-Public Partnerships (PPPs).
All academic, research and industrial stakeholders active in the area of biofuels technologies and related areas are invited to participate in the conference.

 On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we would like to cordially invite you in the International Conference “Hydrogen Energy for Life” on Hydrogen Economy and Production, which will be held in Thessaloniki (Greece) on 24 May, 2012. This conference is funded by the LIFE+ BIOFUELS-2G project (http://www.biofuels2g.gr).
A key component of the BIOFUELS-2G project is a hydrolytic solar hydrogen production unit, which was designed and constructed in CERTH to demonstrate the potential of employing renewable hydrogen for increasing the sustainability of 2nd generation biofuels production. Driven by this incentive, the H2Life conference aims to:
- Highlight promising R&D activities in the fields of renewable hydrogen production
- Outline recent demonstration projects of highlighting hydrogen utilization as energy carrier
- Promote networking between academic and industrial stakeholders and
- Initiate Private-Public Partnerships (PPPs) on the above issues
The agenda includes:
- LIFE program Open Day presentation
- Special Anniversary Happening
- Biofuels-2G Project presentation
- R&D – Demo Projects presentations on hydrogen economy and production
- Roundtable discussion on the future of renewable H2 and hydrogen economy
During the event a tour at the hydrogen production site will be held with a live demonstration of the Biofuels-2G production process. This event is employed as 20th year anniversary event of LIFE program.

Αγαπητοί συνάδελφοι,
με ιδιαίτερη χαρά σας προσκαλούμε να συμμετάσχετε στις εργασίες του 12ου Πανελλήνιου Συμποσίου Κατάλυσης, το οποίο θα διεξαχθεί στα Χανιά, 25-27 Οκτωβρίου 2012. Την διοργάνωση του συμποσίου έχει αναλάβει το Πολυτεχνείο Κρήτης σε συνεργασία με την Ελληνική Καταλυτική Εταιρία.

Καζαντζάκη).  The research team of Dr. Stella Bezergianni from the Center of Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) from Chemical Process Engineering and Research Institute (CPERI) has won the second award in the Competition "Greece Innovates" that had been co-organized from the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises and Eurobank EFG. The award ceremony has taken place on Tuesday 5 July in the centre of Culture "Hellenic World" in Athens.

The paper with the title "Various Morphology Catalytic Porous Particle Synthesis via Aerosol Spray Pyrolysis Process" by Kastrinaki G., Lorentzou S., Konstandopoulos A.G. from the Aerosol and Particle Technology Laboratory of the Chemical Process Engineering Research Institute of CERTH received the Best Presentation Award at the 5th Panhellenic Symposium on Porous Materials at the University of Crete, Heraklion, 30 June- 1 July 2011. |
Στις 6 Ιουνίου 2011 σε ειδική τελετή στο Νέο Μουσείο της Ακρόπολης απονεμήθηκε το Βραβείο «ΟΙΚΟΠΟΛΙΣ 2011: Επιστημονικού Εργαστηρίου» στο Εργαστήριο Τεχνολογίας Σωματιδίων & Αερολυμάτων (ΕΤΕΣΑ) του Ινστιτούτου Τεχνικής Χημικών Διεργασιών του ΕΚΕΤΑ. Το Βραβείο παρέλαβε ο Δρ. Αθανάσιος Γ. Κωνσταντόπουλος, ιδρυτής και Διευθυντής του ΕΤΕΣΑ.

 ERC Advanced Grant is Awarded to Dr. Athanasios G. Konstandopoulos.
With a letter dated October 21, 2010 the president of the European Research Council (ERC) Prof. Helga Nowotny congratulates Dr. Athanasios G. Konstandopoulos, Director of APT Lab and CPERI for his success in the highly competitive (success percentage 10-15%) competition for the prestigious ERC Advanced Grant, which drew 2009 candidate applications.
The research project proposed by Dr. Konstandopoulos titled ARMOS-Advanced Multifunctional Reactors for Green Mobility and Solar Fuels will be funded by the ERC with the amount of 1,750,000 Euros and the contract preparation process has been already initiated.
